Hal Frankel, OD

Dr. Frankel did his undergraduate work at the University of Iowa. He graduated the Illinois College of Optometry in 1990. He and his father Dr. Bernard Frankel have owned a practice at 63rd and Pulaski in Chicago. Dr. Hal currently devotes his time to this Bolingrook practice today.

Dr. Hal Frankel has done several volunteer trips to Mexico to help the less fortunate with glasses. He has volunteered  at the Ark in Chicago. Dr. Frankel currently works with Churches and schools in the area to provide eye exams and glasses to local families in need. He has formed a new partnership with Families Helping Families and Bridge Communities to further help the needs of the less fortunate. Dr. Frankel is committed to help the community with his talents and with the funds generated by his loyal patients.

 He continues to specialize in specialty contacts for patients with astigmatism and bifocal needs. He is also commited to getting glasses prescriptions done right the first time so you may leave with clear and comfortable vision.


Michele O. Albanese, O.D.

Dr. Albanese did her undergraduate work at Loyola University, Chicago. During her post-graduate studies, she focused on pediatric care and low vision having worked at the Blind Rehabilitation Center of Hines VA Hospital. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1982. She was in private practice in Cicero and ran the Infant Welfare Society Eye Clinic before beginning a 26 year career with corporate optometry. She was featured in "Review of Optometry - Women in Optometry" for her work with children's charities and women's health issues. For six years, she served as a core coordinator for the Chicago Children's Clinic, working alongside the Chicago Public Schools, Communities in Schools for Chicago and Lions Clubs, to provide needed eyecare to 10,000-12,000 city kids annually.
Dr. Albanese's main areas of focus in private practice continue to be specialty contact lenses, computer vision correction, pediatrics and women's health.
